Default Craigslist FXR

I came across the below ad on Craigslist. The ad says nothing about it being an FXR. I politely email "Stephanie" and let her know if she puts "FXR" somewhere in the description, she will get a quicker sale. She replies with "Thank you for the concern but you are WRONG!!!" I didn't bother replying. I figure she is probably selling the bike for someone, living or dead.

First, is there some non-FXR Harley that has a triangle in the frame under the seat? If there is, I have been wrong all this time. Second, providing I am right, it seems like a heck of a deal if you want to haggle with "Stephanie".

LOL at her...
Not a bad deal, not great...60k miles, can't tell condition from pics...looks decent. Certainly worth a look if you're within driving distance. Could whittle her down to 3,500.

We should all reply to it and tell her the same thing.

Those look like stock handlebars, I've always hated that look.
I think that it was the only year that they had them.

I was 1000 miles closer I'd be hooking the trailer up to go get it. Can't find a FXR around here that hasn't been SOAed to hell & gone and run ragged, even those are pulling $8000 and up.

In her defense...when the FXR first came out...it was hated by hardcore bikers saying it looked too much like a Japanese bike. In 86 they redid the name superglide with the FXR... and the bike she has more than likely says FXLR on the title and indeed is a low rider...so technically she is correct...it is a FXLR.

Dave, those were the stock bars for '87-'94 FXLR's. In spite of their looks, I have found them to be quite comfortable.

^This^
The youngins are buying them up & painting them all black & putting those ridiculous pogo stick handlebars on them. Makes my FXR's worth more, though.

The handlebars are comfortable. I have ridden 123,000 miles with those bars with no problems.
