Default New Fish, New Questions

Hello all. New to the forum, and I'm just chock full of stupid questions. I'm currently in the process of tearing the heads and jugs off of my 94 Evo RK to fix a leaking base gasket and blown head gasket. I went to HD and got all the rubber seals and o rings for the rocker covers, a metal (aluminum?) rocker gasket, and a MLS head gasket (not sure if it's cometic). I also ordered embossed copper base gaskets from Ebay, along with new exhaust studs and push rod tube o rings. I planned on changing the valve seals and lapping, but they held gas for over an hour without leaking...so I ain't even cleaning the carbon off, lol.
Now, a couple of my most immediate questions for you gear heads:
1.) Do I need to use a sealant on the copper base gasket and/or the SLS rocker gasket?
And
2.) Will the MLS head gasket affect the seal of the copper base due it's the 'soft' consistency?
The few relevant things I know are that it's a stock bore, it had a paper base gasket, MLS head gasket, and a 2 piece black and orange rocker gasket that I'm assuming is Johns. Also, I have adjustable aluminum revtec pushrods, but I'm not sure if there is a cam or if the valves and springs are stock, and I honestly don't care until it comes time to mess with it. I have a Screaming Eagle mukuni (not sure what size yet...assuming 42) and a 2-1 Vance& Hines. Bike ran fine, a little rich, but pretty quick for what it is.
Thank you all in advance for any helpful tips...\m/(>
