Default Have we had a vest thread lately?

I know, I know and at the sake of looking like a pirate, I need a vest. I bought one from leather up a couple years back for cheap.. It served its purpose but I was never real happy with it. The leather was tough, as in almost crunchy, if that makes sense. No matter how much oil I put on it. I mean I only pad 50 bucks for it, so I cant gripe to much. I tried it on the other day. First time since last year and it was waaaay to big. So I gave it to my step father. Now Im looking for another one. Would prefer the cut to be straight at the bottom. Pockets on the chest are a plus. A nice conceal pocket is a definite want. Im not sure if I want to go back with the buttoned front or try my hand at a zipper. I dont want a collar. That thing rubbed my neck raw last year. I dont want to spend a fortune, but I understand to get more I gotta pay more. What are you guys wearing?

I wear a Legendary USA. See link, lots of styles and reasonable prices. Very high quality leather and comfortable:

I have one that I got when I got my bike for points at the shop. It has a pocket on each side and it's stitched up on the sides and that's about all. I don't know who or where it was made and don't care.

+1 on SOA vest. big inside pockets both left and right, just about any thing you would want to carry fits.

Even the extra interior pocket holds my g4 LG phone. looks like they used it as a template because it is snug but it fits easy enough.

Seems to be well made but only had it a few weeks.

I have a Kerr leather vest that I got 10 or so years ago. Still holding up; fits a bit loose so I can throw a sweatshirt on under it. Even has a nice scuff on the left shoulder from my spill last year.

Any brand horsehide vest. They will outlive the original purchaser by decades.
I prefer Hillside regardless of whether its cow hide or horsehide. If i wanted the SOA style, I would probably call Little Joe's. Fox Creek would be my choice fot a traditional vest.

I bought one last week...

the responses to my vest thread helped make up my mind to try one out.
