Mr. Harley and Mr. Davidson were from Scotland I believe. A friend told that the Scottish are the greatest engineers in the world. Example: The Glascow School of Engineering.

William S. Harley Sr. was born Victoria Street, Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England. William S. Harley, his son, co-founder of Harley-Davidson was born in Milwaukee.


The father of the Davidson brothers was from Scotland, but I believe all of them were born in Milwaukee as well.

 

And the V-Twin motorcycle wasn't invented by HD either.
