Something I have never seen before
Driving southbound on I95 south of Savannah, GA. I observed two Harley's riding two a breast in the left lane with passenger's and no helmets traveling at 70 mph. Watching the traffic around the bikes they were at traveling approximately 75mph-80mph in moderate traffic. It was interesting watching car's coming up on the bikes in the left lane at a higher speed and being forced to brake and then attempt to go around pass in the middle lane. Staying in the back I had a good view of cars and bike in that traffic pattern. It appeared to me to be a dangerous way to travel. As a retired LEO I have some opportunities to observed some poor driving choices and think this was dangerous.

I'm guessing those left lane hogs had recently parked their motorhome and unloaded the bikes from the trailer.

The HOG chapter I was in a couple years ago always had the group rides travel staggered but in the left lane, at about 7or 8 mph over the limit. Too slow for the fast lane and we never moved over. I never felt comfortable doing this and it was a main reason I stopped going on those rides. BS it's safer in the left lane; not when you're pissing off a bunch of other drivers and riders.

Left Lane Losers.
I'm often in the left lane in traffic because my goal is to find that "Sweet spot" between "traffic clusters" that for some reason seems to almost always exist.
Not always, but I do look for them when riding. And I do my best to get out of the traffic clusters when I am in them.
When in one I do pull over to the right lane(s) to allow those faster drivers that also almost always exist to pass on through.
I'm happy and content when all by my lonesome while out riding.
