What does a wider rear tire do for you?
Do you get any performance or handling benefits from a wider rear tire? My FXDL has a 160 rear tire but I'm thinking about a wide tire kit and a 180 rear tire when I go in for my 1000 mile service primarily because it looks good. Whats it do for ride and handling?

I'd say the wider tires is almost purely for looks after a certain width... 250mm is prob pushing it as for being totally rideable in every situation. My fatty has a 200mm is pretty large, I say it has good looks and rides nice, I see no adverse affects with it while riding.

My friend works for an Indy near our town. He works on and rides fat tire bikes all the time. From what he says, anything over a 200mm actually hurts your cornering ability. I would say a 180 would be very nice looking and keep the cornering ability on your bike.
