Default FP3 on a stock bike

I received feedback from a 2-3 people as part of another thread, but I don't want to step on that OP's thread and am hoping to get some more input, so I decided to start a separate one.

I'm considering picking up the FP3 and running the stock tune on my Heritage. I may eventually go with some slip ons and an a/c but it won't be until next riding season. I'm actually really enjoying the bike stock for now and am still researching the pipes I may want.

That said, I was hoping to hear from some more folks who have run the FP3 on their stock bikes. When I emailed V&H, I, of course, received a reply saying that the FP3 would indeed benefit a stock 103 with better throttle response, cooler operating temp and improved overall rideability.

Hoping to get some more real-world feedback. Thanks in advance.

I put an Fp3 on my sporster but also changed the pipes and AC at the same time. I rode like that for a month then put my original mufflers back on for my drivers test so I still had my DK air breather on but I was really impressed with how much better the bike ran from stock. My opinion is anyone on a budget the 1st thing to upgrade would be a good tuner.I hope this is of some help.

Except for the SE Street Cannons, I'm basically running stock with my FP3 and it's makes a difference. I would definitely run it if I were you, even on your stock setup.

I ran mine stock before my pipes came in. Do it! it makes the bike run cooler and smoother with better throttle response (and a little worse gas mileage)

I ran mine for a couple of weeks as well before my pipes came in. Slow speed throttle response was greatly improved as well as overall operations.

First mod you should make. Nice thing about the FP3 is you can update it as you change your bike.

I was going to put an FP3 on my 2014 Heritage when it was stock. At the time I remember reading several posts on this forum of good results from others here but I ended up buying my pipes and air cleaner at the same time.
Don't forget that you can also run the autotune feature on a stock set up.

I ran the FP3 for a few days on my 14 Street Bob before I changed the air cleaner, and eventually the pipes. I think it woke the engine up a little bit.

On my last '15 I put a FP3 on a stock bike and saw a better running machine. The V&H map for stock made the bike better and I could tell the difference. I am going to put one on my current 15 as soon as I can.

I have been told that even a stock bike can benefit from a tuner. My bike already had the Vance & Hines slip ons on it when I bought it. I decided to install a fuelpak and I could tell a difference. I would recommend one.
