Whatever happened to "share the road"? I rode a lot of mountain roads and the last 100 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway a couple of weeks ago and lost count of how many groups of bicycles I had to brake check for because they were riding 3 and 4 across. At one point I was meeting a group riding 4 across in the oncoming lane when a car flew out from behind them into my lane. There was just barely enough room to avoid a collision, but I witnessed this stuff during the whole ride. I guess there's no fixing stupid, but these people need to have some common sense, especially on roads with blind curves and heavy traffic. Cars aren't going to wait to get around a group of bicycles going 5 mph. They're coming around no matter what.
Be aware of this if you are riding twisty roads. Bicycles are out in full force this time of year.

Some truckers "roll the coal" to express their displeasure at bicycles hogging the road. Like this video..

Every bicyclist that he smoked out was riding on the shoulder, well out of the way.
Guy in the pickup was an idiot, as are pretty much all of the morons that like to "smoke people out" with their diesel pickups.

Generally speaking, group riding bicyclist consider that every other vehicle on the road must do everything possible to accommodate whatever action they decide to take. Rarely do they comply with traffic control devices, and frequently they will follow their whim to demonstrate how they own the road. It is the only time I wish I had a Pirate/1% outfit on and a bike that could shatter ear drums.

When I ride with my friends out west we will often come through a blind corner, perhaps a tad "Hot", and find 3-4 of them riding abreast, apparently believing that they are riding in a safe bubble.
I now tend to hang back and watch the taillights much more diligently of those that know the roads better, it's a small heads up for me and the bicyclists.
I'm willing to share the road, but I don't think that it means that I have to give it up.

There didn't used to be any bicycles on the BRP, only the rare touring bike riders and they were usually well behaved. Only in the last few years have the jerks come up there. I wouldn't mind if so much if they would ride single file or pull off to let people pass but they seem like the most inconsiderate bunch of beotches out there. I've actually seen them move over from single file to double or triple file when they have heard me coming. Seems to me they are the ones who don't want to share the road.
