Default The Harley Respect is Pretty Cool

I've only been in the Harley club for like 2 or 3 weeks now...always wanted one, but finally have one now!

One thing I noticed is that I get a ton of "respect" for it. People give me the thumbs up a lot, and everywhere I go I hear "nice bike"...things like that. I never got any of that when I rode Japanese cruisers.

I know you're not supposed to care what other people think and all that stuff...but I'm not gonna lie, it does feel good to get this Harley respect. It's weird, but I like it. Sue me, I'm human

I hear ya Irishman, I never got a nice bike comment when I was riding my VTX. I have to say though that any brand that looks "cool" whatever cool is to anyone will get the same treatment. Welcome to the Club!

Congratulations on the bike. Welcome to the club. I had a 1984 Honda V65 Magna and used to get lots of compliments.

Glad you are enjoying your bike. I've been in the Harley club for about 4 months now after riding Japanese bikes for 46 years. I always got numerous compliments on my big Suzuki and Honda cruisers. I have gotten many compliments on my Street Glide.

Enjoy what you ride and be friendly to all. Here are my last two rides.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of those compliments were due to the hot chick on the bike rather than the bike itself LOL

I actually felt my dangle increase by an inch or two when I got my first Harley.

Yeah, it really is kind of weird . . . I had been riding for 28 years before buying a Harley. And I rode to work every single day that wasn't snowing, so I was known to be pretty serious about riding. Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, BMW.

When I showed up with a Road King, people I didn't even know came up to me and were shaking my hand, congratulating me.

Strange thing. Really means a lot to a lot of people.

When occasionally you feel obliged, due to being bombarded by political correctness, to feel apologetic for enjoying the indulgences you've worked hard for.

Don't !

Just my $0.02
