serious??? do a search...or check the trip/travel section. I did it a year ago and it was ok. I actually enjoyed the Cherohola Parkway more than the Dragon. spend more than a day there and ride some of the other roads. many beautiful roads down there. plus the traffic is somewhat heavy on the dragon.

The Dragon is fun but way overrated and very crowded on nice weekends. There are plenty of equally fun roads out there without the traffic.

My thoughts exactly. Too much hype, too many ricky racer types, too many cops.

I like riding the dragon, best time to go imho is middle week. I also agree the dragon is a blast but their other longer roads that are really enjoyable and alot less crowded.

Actually too many slow bagger types. Not certain why this is such a popular road for large touring bikes. Scenery is great but it is a challenging road. Way more large cruiser crashes there than sport bikes. Proper tool for the job.

I started this thread 7 years ago....it is pretty definitive as far as the dragon goes.

It is seriously a good time, and as mentioned mid week probably best, but have heard weekend IS NOT the time to go for sure. Rode it last July and not to crowded on a friday.

Great ride for bagger types, if you ride at a decent pace

It is good for all types of bikes and riders, you just have to know your limitations and ride below then. Also if faster riders come up behind you, it is courteous to pull over and let them pass, or increase your pace if you can.

Here's my story: I rode it, couple of times. Fun, but uneventful. Hype is a bit ahead of the reality. Cherohala Skyway is better/longer.

Whatever.
