Default Hit a dog this morning!

Started the day out with an accident. Riding my Streetglide down the street
approaching a school crossing. Was watching a lady and child nearing the corner. Decided they were not going to get there before me so I turned my head to the front just in time to see a medium sized dog right in front of me in the middle of the road! Hit both brakes hard but hit him anyway. Managed to keep the bike up and stopped a little farther on. Dog was gone. Turned right at the next street to check out damage. I have speakers in my lowers. The woofer in my left lower was hanging out, the bracket was toast.
Put the pieces in my saddle bag and rode back to the scene. The dog's owner had picked it up and was looking for me. She apologized explaining the dog got loose. It was very shook up and had a cut above the left leg. I checked it over and nothing seemed broken. She said she would take it to the Vet to look it over. Got her info and went on my way. No injury to me but I was pretty shook up myself. It happened so fast!

Yep, we all think we are gonna 'the one' with a superhuman reaction time to avoid these types of things. Glad you're OK, hope the dog is not too badly injured nor your bike.

Glad to hear it turned out as well as it did for you and for the dog; our flippin' world can spin on a dime when we're riding. You're still with us and I hope the dog recovers; parts are replaceable, life isn't...

Lady said some visitors to her house failed to latch the gate when they left and the dog got out. Vet had to stitch her up but she'll be find. Getting estimates for the damage to the bike. Shouldn't be much, just a bracket to secure the speaker in the glove box.

I was going to make a "woofer" joke but that would be inappropriate . Glad you and dog seem ok.
