My bike has 15000 miles the RG has 87000 miles. I love the street rod but at 6'2 with a bad knee I'm looking for a better fit. I will end up throwing in about $2000.

87K is a lot of miles and the guy wants you to kick in $2000?

Tell him to stuff it.

Shop around and don't be in a big hurry. There have got to be better deals than that out there..

I am aware but my bike is starting to show its known problems and soon need the motor dropped to do the valves. I am just afraid mine won't make it to the end of summer

Sounds like a losing deal to me, 5 years older, lots more miles and probably more problems, plus coming to the table with an additional 2 grand. Keep looking or take that 2 grand and do your maintenance

No brainer, keep what you have until you run across a grage queen that meets your needs. People rush into things too many times.

No way, his bike with 87,000 mile isn't worth as much as yours. Also,if you go over the recommended mileage for your valve adjustment nothing catstophic is going to happen.
Pass on this deal, you can do better.

I put a lot of miles on a 2000 Screaming Eagle Roadglide, mechanically the same as the 2001, loved it, great bike. But five years older with 87,000 miles is not worth more than your street rod with 15,000. If he gave you a couple grand it might be a fair deal, but not the other way around.
