Got caught in a pretty bad storm here in S Fla riding home from work last night, glasses fogged pretty bad and the lightning was roaring. Was wondering if anyone ever got it by lightning and if there is an increased chance of getting hit vs cager getting hit by lightning. Also looking for anti fog solution for the glasses.

If someone was hit, and somehow lived I would be more than amazed.

If 100 people on this forum "claim" to have been hit by lightning, only to have caught the bolt and thrown it back to God himself, I will not be surprised.

Uhhh NO! Thats like asking if anyone has ever shot themselfs in the head with a .357. Just isn't a logical question. As far as riding in a lightning storm, call me a wossey but I head for cover at the first sight or hearing of lightning. I have turned and rode 70 miles around a storm but Im still here to talk about it

 

No, I think what he meant was did anybody ever hear of a person on a motorcycle getting hit by lightning. By the way, I was hit once, grabbed the bolt of lightning, and threw it back to God.

 

I remember, one time.. at band camp.. I was riding my bike across the field when a bolt of lightning came thundering down from the clouds~ So I caught it with my left hand... and then I went to throw it backto God.. but just then I seen this dude on a Honda coming from the other way.. so I just threw it in his direction~

 

No, and I dont want to be. Lately here in NC we've had some bad t-storms in the afternoon. I got caught in one two weeks ago going to the dealer. The rain was coming down in sheets and lightning was coming STRAIGHT down, and I mean those big blue/yellow lines. I was at a stop light and a bolt hit a transformer 50 yards in front of me, it was at that piont i said "F**k" this and cut across traffic to get inside a quick stop. I think thats the only thing that really scares me is getting zapped by a bazillion volts on top ofmy head. That is also the time I think my open air cleaner had enough, my motor started sputtering and drowning from rain being sucked in. I think now I am going to get at least a round cover for my a/c.

 

no. but I saw that storm coming in from the northwest. tried to get some grass cut quickly before it came. I noticed at one point an awesomefluorescent bluish hue in the cloud line that I've never seen before - it was sureal for sure. never got the torrent rain but yes we've had record lighting strikes so far this year andbeing zapped freaks me out!
