Default K&N Air Intake or SE?

Hi all. Was wondering if any of you use the K&N Stage one intake. Im torn between that and the SE intake. I like the fact that the SE is a Harley part, but the K&N looks better enginered and has the K&N filter built in.

What would you all recommened. Ill provide links if necessary.

So get the SE intake, and buy a K&N filter for it whe the HD dry filter needs to be replaced. Best of both worlds.

Get the K&N!Hands down a better filter than the new ones that come with the SE kit.Buy all the other parts seperate, and it only comes out to like 60.00 plus the filter.ANd one other note...HD will not warranty the filter no matter what!

Order all of the parts for the SE kit minus the filter seperately and then order a K&N filter. That is what I did. Spent alot less than the SE kit and still got the K&N filter.

SE has a paper filter- K&N is reusable gauze. Between those two I'd go with the K&N.
I went with a Big Sucker as it comes with a chrome backing plate, reusable gauze filter like the K&N, andI didn't like the rubber hoses used to vent the heads on the other units.

Does the Big Sucker eliminate the need for the hoses? How does the Sucker "vent the heads" if it doesn't use hoses? Thanks.

I had the SE air filter for 5K miles. It was torn on the rubber and filter. Dealer said it was not one of the defective filters that SE put out. Dealer also said get K&N filter because it will last at least 4 times longer for a little more money. I got a GREAT dealer. He gave me the advice and I trust him.
