what do you do when riding (those with no music)
have an ultra now so i have the music
but when i had a bike with no music - and was on the rode, not just around town, but long ride - i would sing
had done a number of musicals in high school (actually not at my school but at the local girls school, they neede guys for the male parts - great way to find girls to go out with - as i went to an all guys high school) and knew all the songs by heart
can't believe that some of you just sit and ride - i do that sometimes, but not all the time
as a matter of fact sometimes i will turn off the music so i can just enjoy the ride and clear the mind and the soul, but other times i need the music (nothing like narcolepsy)

no need for a radio...use earplugs when on the hiway
can still hear the pipes rumble and feel the bike run...that's all I need
aside from the occasional waaaave [sm=hiya.gif]

On the Ultra, loved the tunes. But on the pan, I do not want the distraction. I'm "intently" focused on the sound of the bike. You know, waiting to hear a clunk, a tink, a crunch, or a bang when something falls off.
And Thank you for the reminder. I havepicked up this BAD habit of clenching my teeth. Not sure why I started doing it recently (couple of years). But I have taken up chewing gum to keep from doing it. Thinking back to pre-tunes days, I guess I was singing, if that's what you could call it [], GOOD thing I had loud pipes to protect the citizens from the "tunes".

My last 2 bikes have had stereos, but I would say 75% of the time they are turned off. I'm one of those guys that love to hear the wind and the sound of my Harley. It's my road music.

A BIG + 1 to carpetride: I now have a bike with a radio and never turn it on. I just enjoy the ride and all those sensations provided by being on the open road, on a great bike ('08 Road Glide) and those wonderful H-D exhaust sounds. I love being free from the telephone and the continualjangle of sounds of everyday life.
Iplan to replace my H-D radio with a HAM 2-Meter Band radio in the near future. But that would only be used when parked. ... BC

Even on my EG I will turn off the radio, and listen to the motor, It is the most relaxing thing you can do I feel.
