Pictures of Okinawa Japan Poker Run
Recently, we had a memorial poker run for Bill Hecox (a local biker) who died of cancer here in Okinawa. There were well over 120 bikers that came out for the event. All the money raised goes to the surviving spouse and daughter. There are a couple of HDF members in the mix Freefall, myself, and a couple of others (sorry if I didn't remember your screen names). If you are wondering, we, as military members, are required to where reflective vests on the island. Enjoy the pics from your Okinawa HDF'ers...

Got some great picture there!! but I don't recognize anyone!! I was stationed in Okinawa from 91-94 at camp Futenma but didn't have a bike at the time but knew many who did and often would bar hop with them.
Your pictures brought back many many memories of Okinawa life of which I miss it.
Glad to see you are haveing such a great time in the Harley tradition.. Have fun and watch for the snakes...

Isn't the "rock" I remember. But then, I was there in 1960-61. I probably laid more coral for the runway at Futema than anyone else. Then it was known as MCAS Futema. I was in the Seabees and we were living near White Beach in Camp Kubasaki, just up from Yonabaru. Wouldn't mind going back for a visit.[8D]

Wow, I can't imagine a poker run on the rock as I remember it. How many miles of decent roads did you find to ride? Seems like when I was therre you could drive round the entire island in about 30 minutes,of course that was back in 1978. Do the locals still like to drive on the sidewalks?
