Default When the snow melts

I'm curious what all of you northern riders have planned once the snow melts and the salt is washed off the roads. I'm watching the news and it seems you just keep getting more and more snow. In a couple weeks maybe the snow will be gone and it's good riding weather.

I'm about 350 miles north of Toronto. For some reason we normally get less snow than those above and below us and this year is no exception.
That big storm they just had in south, we got maybe 1 inch. Still it's -20 and we have lots of snow.
When it melts, which will be in April if we're lucky, I'll be avoiding the frost bumps and taking a few day trips till the warm weather moves in sometime in May I expect.

just waiting for a good rain now to wash off the roads because the salt and sand is like putting your bike through a sandblaster

I live on a steep dirt road in central Vermont. Even with the hard rain yesterday there is still 2+ feet of frozen snow in my yard. We don't really have Spring around here but instead what is known as mud season when all of the dirt and gravel roads become mud pits. Once my road dries out (late April-early May,) I should be able to get out and start riding

I'll be practicing my slalom skills around the craters in these roads. I can't imagine how difficult group rides will be with some the road conditions around here.

It takes a week or two for the roads to get clean of salt and sand after the snow melts...We have to wait for the street sweepers to do their part and a really good rain. Then the bikes are out...Yiptee yahhoooo... But to truthfully answer your question what do we do after the snow melts .... 1st thing is cleaning up all the poo in my yard ... Freekin' dogs! At least I think it's dog poo. My elderly father, who lives with us, does some strange things at times...

The first decent Saturday in April I always take my son for a little scoot around town and then to a restaurant for breakfast, just the two of us. It's a little thing, but it signifies the start of riding season and we both look forward to it each year.

Haha... cracked me up. I can relate, too. Well, to the dog part, at least.
