Two of my friends spent the bucks on some Brooks chaps and had nothing but problems, snaps falling off and stretching out. My cheap *** bought some "Leather King" ones at a bike show for $60.00 and they are awesome.

+1 on the jeans. Warmer in the crotch and ***, and you don't get the wet *** from water running down the seat. I spray them with a good quality waterproofer. Still wear rainsuit in downpours though.

I bought a pair and only wore em twice. They've been in the closet ever since. Don't like wearing them.

I purchased mine from Alaska Fur and Leather in Anchorage. They took the time to measure and fit them for me. I am thankful that they took the time they did especially when I was hit by a red light runner. After sliding down the aphalt and over a divided concrete median I came to appreciate the thickness of them. After getting them back from the ambulance crew I could only imagine the road rash I would have experienced if I had not been wearing them! The buckle was grounded nearly smooth and the snaps were smooth but the leather never rubbed through. I have seem some chaps that are as thin as a T-shirt but too each their own. Comfort vs. Safety....?

I'm not familiar with their chaps, but I bought a Vanson jacket and it's extremely heavy and comfortable. Compared with Fox Creek they might be a little more pricey, but it's another option.
