In addition do they work as well as a rainsuit to help keep you warm during cold weather riding.

Thanks for any help.

Lots of opinions. Different strokes for different... you get the idea.

They sell excellent lined leather chaps - I wear mine all winter.

If you oil them, they will shed light rain.

Whether chaps keep you warmer than wearing raingear or not, I have no idea... its a subjective thing.

Fox Creek Leather for chaps, jackets and vests. Made in USA and great quality. Great customer support also. Can't do better than them.

I don't know if Fox Creek chaps are the best or not but I do know they are made in the US and are guaranteed for for life...

Fox Creek and Antelope Creek are both good. However, I bought a $70 pair at a rally about eight years ago and they are still great.

No website but give the guy a call. He used to have his shop in Baltimore but moved out to the country.

I've had mine for 22 years, still in great shape. Heavy but soft leather legs with a full zipper up the back, cuff snaps closed. They are made to your measurements.

Yes, they are warm, I think warmer than rain pants, because the leather cuts the wind. I've used them as rain pants in light rain because I treat the leather. Plus they don't flap in the wind like a rain pant.
