**The Anti-Blacked Out Thread**

Shiney black and lots of chrome...
My opinion on all these blacked out bikes is you need contrast...with no contrast, it looks like a big blob of black. Just like cars and black rims, look good with contrast, without u misewell just buy some black steel wheels and leave the hub caps off

Some of you guys sound like a bunch of old bitties...
Seriously, isn't everything about Harleys played out these days? I mean come on man. Do-rags, chaps, vests, the whole pirate look. Is there anything that hasn't been played out at least twice since 1903?
...#103. You could be a poser if... You stand around and bitch about what other people ride as if it's some kind of fashion show.

Do what you want with the thread but it wasnt started with the intention of putting down blacked-out bikes. And for what it's worth I still think stock color paint jobs (including black) with chrome add-ons are more common than truly blacked out bikes, at least in my neck of the woods.
I'm a huge fan of having the tins and frame painted the same color (which is one of the reasons black work well for me 'cause it comes out of the factory that way) Throw some matching parts on, some chrome to contrast and you can usually come up with something pretty damn cool

Burgundy on my FXSTC and blue on my Rocker C.

i also think chrome can easily get boring or be so overdone that you don't even notice it. You start getting diminishing returns on the expense at some point. I mean at some point i'm just not going to notice the extra $200 that you have "invested" in chromed valve stem caps, bolt tops or handlebar ends. And i sure as hell don't envy the amount of time required to polish it.
But back to the original point: a killer paint scheme and chrome is always a crowd pleaser.

Then you sure wouldn't notice I changed the visible black tie wraps with blue ones.
Since I'm doing it for me anyway, what another sees or doesn't doesn't affect my enjoyment of it.
