Although black is still the fastest color and i still love the hell out of my black bike, the "blacked out yadda yadda" threads can get kind of stale. There's only so many times you can debate the merrits of gloss vs flat or look at a set of blacked out fork sliders before you remember why baskin robins has 30+ flavors of ice cream; variety is good. So this thread is for all of those "chrome ******", the tricked out custom paint jobs, and all of the bikes with cool color schemes etc. Because even though "chrome won't get you home," it's shiny and shiny things are good.
cannot agree more black is so boring anymore, i have had two finally wanted something different so went in the other direction and bought a white one and i get twice as many compliments on it and yes it is chromed out when driving down the highway you cannot tell if the bike is black or just another dark color mine you know what it is of course the v/h with no baffles makes you knotice
I really like the blacked out look, but chrome is just killer looking. Both my bikes have alot of chrome and the XL50 has tons of it, but it is a black bike.
be careful with this one, those black bike owners are sensitive. I got reported to moderators for likening black denim bikes to spinning rims, that once the fad ends any one that ownes one will be looked at like big DB's.
I used to be a fan of the blacked out look, still am to some degree. But something changed and I'm liking chrome more and more. My bike's glass black and I could go either way with it, but I think I'm gonna start chroming it out. THere's just something about chrome and black together.
I've seen a lot of blacked out bikes on here and they look pretty cool. I think the right combination of contrast and and imagination and originality is what sets the good ones apart.
Motorcycles go through their cycles (no pun intended) of what is "hot". Look at the chopper craze, then the bobber craze, then the blacked out craze.....Its a revolving door. Not your flavor that is cool, I'm sure your order will be up shortly...
As long as people are riding, that is what counts. If everyone rode the same thing, nobody would be special.
