Default USING ROYAL PURPLE OIL

Has anyone had any problems with ROYAL PURPLE Max Cycle 20-50, like noisy motor and transmission, higher oil consumption and leaking from all gaskets including the head gaskets?

Welcome attherange,
See that you joined yesterday and there is no info about you/where you are.

If that is the same ROYAL PURPLE that I remember from the 60s, the products were made in a decrepit little refinery in Oklahoma City. The feedstocks were something called "used oils and byproducts" that were re-refined into lube oils. As kids, we could only afford RP for our old clunkers.

If it is the SAME stuff, I would run screaming in the opposite direction rather than put it in my scoot! Maybe somebody bought the old trademarks or something and it is something diff now. Where are you located?

Cheers.

I use royal purple in my transmission alone. Never in primary or motor. been using it for 7,500 miles so far. Results are unnoticed. No problems, no leaks.

Just another overpriced/overhyped syn rip-off. I pay $7.50 for a 4 quart jug of 20W50, don't burn it, change every 3000 and the bike runs cool!

Not another oil thread! Everyone knows that petroleum oils is obsolete or do they? I use to use Royal Purple hair wax on my nappy head when I was a kid.

Are you representing a Royal Purple competitor? Although not quite as good as Amsoil (according to Amsoil's data), it's a good full synthetic, blended in Humble, TX. I use 20W50 Maxcycle in all three holes, no problems, no leaks, no use, no more noise than usual.
