anyone have a tallboy seat
#2
I have the tallboy on my Road Glide. The seat is comfortable (ymmv). There is a problem though. My seat broke down somewhat after about 30,000 miles and rubbed against the inside corners of the saddlebags. I called the motor company about this but they were less than interested. My part number ends with a -08, so maybe this problem has been addressed????
I ended up having a ulpostry shop cut a half inch out of each side of the seat to give me the clearance needed. No impact on rider comfort.

I run a modified tall boy seat on my 2010 Street Glide. Took the original seat and at the rear where the seat tapered at the butt, had them take it straight down there and back a little. Net effect, I am back another inch and down 3/4 more than stock.
Seat will work with a rider back rest, but since I modded the seat a little the seat acts like a back rest.

I got a Tall Boy before I took possession of the bike. The original seat had me right on top of the gas tank. They said it moves you back a little.
Mine is also the pillow top.
I'm, uh, a little robust, and the extra padding definitely helps.
There IS a slot for a back rest, but I didn't get one.

For 2-up travels I run a tall boy. Sits me further back and deeper in the saddle. Passenger section is fairly wide and comfortable enough to keep my wife outta my ear on long hauls. 2 thumbs up.
