Default Headlight Bulb?

Hi I was wondering does anyone know what the brightest bulb is that I can install in my stock HD headlight housing on a 2005 electra glide classic?
or can this not be done?

Thanks

I use a PIAA extreme white bulb. It is brighter as stock using the same wattage. Just be sure to use a 55/60 watt bulb or it will likely melt the plastic reflector.

Take a look at this discussion thread. I replaced my headlight with the Hella 7" E-code version (direct swap with no modification) and the 65/70 bulb.....makes a very noticeable difference over stock. I've had no problem with anything melting. Many forum members report using 80/100 bulbs with no issues, as I recall when I was researching this.

They are the brightest bulbs I have ever run. I use them in my truck and most of my cars. Great bulb, I can see so much better with them! They will set you back around $20, and the store will give you your money back if not satisfied. But I think you will definitely appreciate them.

Well thanks for all the info here guys Ive read them all and have been doing some research as for the truck-lite option that is not an option $315.00 for a bulb is insane.....so with that said what are my other best options? Im willing to spend up to $100 if that means just changeing out the bulb or changeing the bulb and the glass.......what im after is the clearest most white/bright light set-up I can get for a $100 or less in a plug and play method without causing any burn/melting issues sorry for the post But please care to chime in with that set-up and post the manufacture and part numbers please I will be sure to post what I decided to go with.

Thanks

I can guarantee this bulb's one of (if not the) brightest on market (4th bulb down, H4 80/100 Osram): http://www.germanautoparts.com/Hardware/Bulbs/H4

This baby sheds lighe everywhere & I've been running for 2-yrs now w/no problems. Leave it to those crazy Germans

After having FOUR of those bulbs last less than a year, I swore off of them forever.

They are bright, but they seem to have an awful lifespan on bikes, I think its the vibrations.
