HD Battery...how long do they last?
Rode my bike this morning and it started up fine...an hour later tried to start it up and it was dead. never had this problem before. I just picked up this bike last year and it's an 07. I assume this is the original battery. Is it time to replace the battery?
How long did your battery last before you had to replace? Did you replace with OEM or another manufacturer?

My first battery lasted 2 months. Bad battery from the start. On my 2007, I changed around 2.5 years. i live in very hot environment and it kills the battery. If you ride the bike a lot or keep it on a trickle charger, it last for 5+ years.

My last one lasted right at a half a year, and by "right at" I mean that it hit the dirt with less than a week remaining on the 6mo. direct replacement warranty. I usually can't BUY that kind of luck!
Before that, I had one last almost seven years. Battery Tenders are a wonderful thing!

I just replaced my OEM battery, on my 2005 FLTR.... daily rider, 15k a year.... battery still fired the bike up. but there was a "hesitation" and I didn't want to get stuck
Replaced battery with a DEKA battery (the folks who make the H-D one) Made in the USA http://www.bohannonbattery.com/ $109 w/delivery.... 400 CCA

All my HD wet batteries have lasted around 4 years, recently changed my first dry battery which was still ok but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry and that was getting on for 6 years old, to some degree it's just luck some go down after a few months while others last years.
