Default tall guy foot plate lowering

I am 6' 8" and recently purchased a road king classic, 2011. Would like to be able to lower my footplates 1-2 inches for comfort. Are there there any kits out there to make this happen or do i need to go custom?

Look into moving them forward. Down will be nothing but trouble, they all ready drag in the corners. Arlen Ness makes conversions for pegs. A machine shop could build you something worse case.

Better to get a tallboy seat. As was said, lowering your boards would be a BAD idea.

I agree. Get a seat that will move you up and/or back, or extensions to move your floor boards forward. Clearance is already minimal with the stock set-up. Lowering them will only reduce your lean angle and can be dangerous.

You may get away with dropping 1/2, but in now way would I drop floor boards any lower. My 2003 Ultra could be adjusted about 1/2" and wish I had that option on the 2009 Ultra. Tried moving floorboards out, but that did not do it for me and I dont want to sit any higher on the bike ( tallboy seat).

3" extended controls are common and I've heard of place doing 4" also , much more that that I'd think you'd getting into all kinds of clearance issue's that would RAISE you feet to an even more awkward position .

I've done a few bikes for guys of size and to get them to really fit it take a lot of custom work and making stuff , very little is available just to bolt on that will really help you . Wish I had better things to tell you man .

I asked this same question a while back. Nothing off the shelf available as Twisted says. I installed a Mustang Supertouring seat which moved me back 1.75 inches and down another inch. It really helped. Highways pegs on the crash bars help too as well as an extended shifter
