Default Boots Jungle boots Like? Dislike?

After a long search for a pair of boots in my city I wound up at the Army surplus store and bought a pair of military jungle boots. Didn't want to buy online just because I want to make sure they fit properly. I hope they will do the job for me. Light weight with an aggressive sole. I wear Red Wing steel toes for work and are a nice boot but just too heavy for riding. My question is, does anybody else wear these and how do they like them? Thanks.

well, i wore them when in the service and yes they were comfortable, but, for riding I don't think they really offer you much protection at all. Although better than wearing tennis shoes or flip flops, not much better imo. But they are comfortable......

Having good traction when putting your foot down is important, abrasion protection is next. I always wear leather

Wore them in Viet Nam, worked as designed. Not so much for riding boots.

I've worn them riding, they have all the grip you'll need. As far as abrasion resistance, you should be ok as long as you have long pants on. I wear an older pair of my desert boots most of the time now. They are a similar style, and I have no complaints.

You should be Fine. Having worn them for years I like them also. Lightweight and good traciton. Suire does beat tennis shoes!

The originals are good, steel shank and all. A lot of the "new" after market ones don't have that. Always liked jungle boots. Except for the mesh insole, now those were uncomfortable as heck. Hated it when the Army said we couldn't wear the ones with the green uppers. The newer ones (black uppers) weren't quite as good. Course now we can't wear either as we are the brown boot army again.

Asolos. Zappos.com has free shipping back and forth. If they don't fit swap them out for the next size. They are worth it and zappos is easy to deal with.
