I've searched and seen lots of Metzeler vs. Dunlop opinions. I'm kinda confused since my buddy went from a Metzeler to Dunlop on hiz Guzzi and swears that the Dunlops don't follow grooves in the pavement like his Metzelers did, yet it seems like the opinion here is different.

I've always had real good luck with Michelins on my cars ( previously mentioned buddy hates Michelins ), and I'm wondering if anyone here has tried them yet. It's about time for me to buy a rear tire for my '06 RG ( getting close to 17k miles ), and one thing I don't like is that the Dunlops seem to want to follow rain grooves in the pavement.

I used to run Michelins on my rice rockets. They were great. If you want a tire that doesn't follow the tain grooves, get on that doesn't ahve any tread running in a forward direction on the tire. That simple...

I used a set of Michelin Commanders. Horrible tire. Worst tire I ever used. Slippery when dry, dangerous when wet.I could easily spin the rear trie coming out of a corner. Kind of a puckering feeling. I got rid of them long before they were worn out.

I like Avon Roadrunners.

I had Mich's on a Goldwing and was one of the best set of tires I had owned. Mich sent me a letter to recall the tires. The letter would get me a new set of tires of my choice from a dealer of my selection. So I rode them the rest of the season, damn near wore them out and took the letter in and got a set of Metzlers. I still like the Metzlers a lot but I have burned up a few sets on my H~Ds.
