Default Do tar snakes freak you out?

I ride on the slab two or three times a week. With the fwy old as it is, there are a lot of tar snakes! Wondering if anyone hates em too?

In 40 years I've never given it a thought. I'll have to pay attention next time I'm on the freeway.

Around here, they love to use that stuff, only time it ever freaked me out was going around a sharp corner and hit a bunch of them that was laid out parallel about 6 inches apart, my bike rolled over a few of them sideways before I hit normal blacktop.

When I first started riding they weirded me out a bit, but can't say that I notice them anymore.

I see them all the time and do not pay them any mind. There was once a time when they kind of freaked me out (usually when I felt the rear tire slip in a turn).

Now I just accept them and do not give them much thought.

Tar snakes?

Do you mean that there are snakes that actually eat tar?

What happens if you hit one? Must make a real mess!

Never had an issue with them until my last tire change. Running Avons it was like the tar wasn't there, the metzlers I have now seem to be allergic to them and get squirrelly going over them, slide right off when their wet. Had me a pucker moment or two.
