Thinking of a switch...
I have been toying with the notion of ditching my softail (night train) for a bagger. Either a used Road King Classic or 2013 Road Glide. I do believe that either bagger will be awesome and will accommodate the upgrades I'm looking for, but my issue is remorse. I'm afraid I'll regret getting rid of the Train. I love that bike it just doesn't provide the comfort or storage capacity I'm looking for. So my question is has anyone traded up similar to my potential situation? Any regrets? I can not afford keeping my bike and buying a touring already crunched the numbers.

There are alot of people here that have traded in their sportster, dyna, softail, vrod, or metric in on a bagger. Some bikes you will never forget will always be apart of you but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying new experiences on a different bike. Here's a thread on the subject

You won't get as much for the train as you think, find a way to keep it and get the bagger. Train for shorter trips and the bagger for long distance rides. SJ Ron

I went from a 2000 Dyna wide Glide to an 07 Road King Classic
then I stripped off every thing that did not say Dyna except for the
bags. You can see what I wound up with, and I could not be prouder.
To me it makes me think of a bar hopper with bags and cruse control.
Instead of hopping bars from town to town I can hop bars from state
to state, and the wife loves the comfort as well.

If not, check out the thread below, 75 pages of pics of Softails turned bagger.

I have well over 100k miles on a couple different touring models. I currently have a Heritage. If I ever wanted a full bagger again, I would convert the Heritage.
But, give em a ride and see what you like best.

Both bikes you are considering are awesome in their own right. The Road King for its versatility and just being awesome (I am bias). The Road Glide for the creature comforts and outstanding riding bliss. I have too much coin into my Road King to consider trading or selling as I couldn't stand the loss. I have put a ton of scratch into it and continue to do so. I never know what I am gonna do next....

I went from a Heritage to a Road King Classic to a Road Glide.
The switch to a Road King was a nice transition, I wanted the larger gas tank, cruise and ABS.
I put a ton of miles on my bike, and I wanted a big fairing, lowers, tunes, hard bags, a trunk, better wind protection, etc etc.
ZERO regrets.

My Wife and I both ride, I ended up getting a Road King in addition to the Deuce because we couldn't pack what we needed on both bikes doing a trip (without looking like the Clampetts). And I didn't want bags etc on the Deuce. Fast forward to now, we have the Classic. I rode the Deuce this morning to work, I like being able to switch it up. I say keep the Night Train and get the Bagger.
