Arrow Shoei RF-1200

Does anyone have this helmet?

I am thinking of switching from my GMAX 54S Modular helmet. The Shoei feels MUCH lighter. I never used the modular function like I thought I would. The only thing I might miss is the drop down sun visor on the GMAX.

I assume you can wear sunglasses with the Shoei? Has anyone wore sun glasses with the RF-1000 or RF-1100?

I have been wondering about a Shoei helmet myself. I have heard many about them, but have never been able to even try one on. Living in a non helmet required state, it is tough to find a place that caries any selection of helmets, much less expensive ones.

I went to Cycle gear today and tried one on. It was very comfortable and noticebly lighter than my Gmax modular. But without riding with it, I am not sure its worth dropping $450 on one so I am looking for some feedback here.

I have an RF-1100. I like it and I always have sunglasses (don't like packing a second shield). Most of the time I use KDs under the helmet and its comfortable.

Shoei helmets without the dropdown visor (rf1200 x-12) fit much more snug than the ones with the drop down visor (the j-cruise one piece and Neotec modular. I have 3 shoeis and need a different size for the drop down visor one than the x-12.

At least that is how they work on my noggin. Of the better helmets, Shoei fits my head better than any others. I have tried arai, nolan and Shubert but they don't work well with the shape of my head.

I have the RF-1100 and for a ff helmet, it's great. You don't notice you are wearing it once you are riding. That said, I mostly wear my Bell Pitt Boss since I'm not a huge fan of ff helmets unless it is cold or raining or if I'm at highway speeds. The only down side is that it has fogged up on me but you can crack the visor a little.

I really like my RF 1000, I have two of those and an Arai RX-Q. I can wear my glasses with them, including RayBans. There is a review of the RF 1200 on Webbikeworld. The Shoei GT Air gets a better review.

I have an RF1000 and love it. Had two modulars before and will never go back. The FF is so much more quiet.

If you are worried about price check out close out deals on the RF1100 models that are starting to show up. I got my 1000 when the 1100 was released and paid just under half MSRP. Smokin deal and great helmet. Plus the designs don't get old looking from year to year.

I have the RF-1000, got it when the 1100's came out. Like Afrobaron said, it was less than 1/2 the price. I wear it 95% of the time. It's very comfortable and was the only helmet that fit my wrecking ball sized head. XXL LOL

Wife has an RF 1100 and loves it. Wears sunglasses with it. Very light. I wear mostly Arai...a Signet-Q fits me best (long oval).

Be sure to have your sunglasses with you when you try helmets on...some work way better than others under a full face.
