Default Have a spare battery for your keyfob!

Went for a ride about a month ago, no problem. Heading out today, pressed the starter button, nuttin! I thought what the hell is going on, I'll try a new battery in the keyfob first. Sure enough, that's what it was, not sure how old it was. I'm glad it gave out before I started out rather than when I got to Middleburg, I hate going though that rigamaro to start it when you don't have the fob, probably could'nt have remembered how to do anyway.

I change it once a year if it needs it or not. To cheap a part to chance.

I keep a note on my iPhone with the steps and security code just in case. I also plan on installing new batteries at the beginning of the riding season, probably still 2 months away yet.

The iPhone idea is an excellent one, may have to borrow that. Aside from a dead battery, there is always a possibility of losing that sucker, don't like the thought of being stranded!

Store it in a warm place, cold weather or temps will drain it pretty fast. I keep my fob in my pocket when I ride especially in these temps.

I bought a 10 pack of 2032's from Amazon for cheap (Name brand - Don't get the knock-offs). Keep a couple spares on the bike. Dumb *** friend of mine pulls up late to a ride and said he had to stop at Harley to get a new battery. I don't even want to know how much they charged him, I bet it was as much as I paid for 10.
