**DK custom does it again! DK offers an air filter thats is better than a K&N!**
DK custom now has a synthetic media air filter for the 587 Outlaw AC set up. No more making the SE filter fit where it wasn't supposed to.
The filter alone: http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Synt...87-SYN-FLT.htm
The rain sock for the filter: http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/KN-R...-AC-KN-SCK.htm
The Outlaw 587: http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Twin...ystems_c78.htm
This filter provides the engine with more than enough air flow and filters better than a paper filter and the loved oil and gauze type. Price point is good and service is excellent as usual. The synthetic nanofiber media featured in AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Air Filters has sub-micron diameters and small inter-fiber spaces, resulting in more contaminants being captured on the surface of the media and lower restriction. Cellulose, wetted-gauze and foam filters have larger spaces between the media that cause contaminants to load in the depth of the filter, resulting in higher restriction and lower capacity not to mention the elimination of oil and hot engine air entering the intake coating the combustion chamber in coke and carbon. Props to DK for offering this as an option to the Outlaw 587!
Time to ditch that K&N.

I ran it from the gauge down to the lifter block and behind it the under and behind all three oil lines then under the cam chest to the sender. I dont like the line just dangling under the AC. Its copper line with heat shrink on it and a fire sleeve where it runs down the cyl. You want more pics of it. It would have been cleaner looking if I took the time to find gray heat shrink.
