Default Just one winter project turned into....

Ugh so this was my first real winter in a long time. Had the grand idea of replacing JUST the old head unit out with an aftermarket, because there is snow and I can't ride.

Then something happened, I thought

new head unit means an amp...more snow

Don't wana lose space in the saddle bags, hate the king tour pack add a razor base.

New amp in the razor pack...more snow

Amp means new speakers... more snow

might as well add speaker pods in the lowers...more snow

Well as long as I have the fairing open...
might as well add those apes I've been wanting...more snow

Well I need new clutch cable & new brake lines that I have to run for the new bars and have to take the exhaust apart to get at the clutch cover might as well do a true duals conversion....more snow...

maybe the last snow for the winter?

I'm running out of projects... time to go ride!!!!!

Anyone else spend the winter knocking out projects?

That is a disease called "While I'm At It-itis". It can be fatal for your wallet as well as any schedule you may had planned. I first learned of this disease on the Corvette Forum where some people start a minor rebuild over the winter and before you know it they are doing a frame-off restoration that ends up taking years to complete.

Be careful!!!

Wow that was a expensive winter , did some improvements , but not to the extent of catching While I'm at it itis . Polished my lowers , put slip ons on the exhaust , chrome bezel rings around Gage's new front tire , rear brake pads , and oh yes the pin striping that I love ! Oh yes and now setting up a handlebar mount for my iPhone so I can use GPS .Now I'm ready to ride , enough of cold and snow !

Default Hello South Jersey

Central Jersey here. I took my last ride of the season last November and haven't touched the bike since. It's sitting in the back of my garage now, plugged in with a thin coating of dust on it. Between the snow, work and the polar temps we have had, the desire to work on, play with or service the scooter was all but gone. I'm thinking that I might give the bike a once over and cleaning on Saturday and possibly take it for a spin this Sunday. The roads are the worst I have ever seen them around here. Gonna have to be really careful with potholes and the like.

So, in answer to your question - no.

Yep, and I dont even have snow to blame lol.

Wanted to get my lower forks pc'd black.

While I've got it apart I might as well change out the suspension.

Before I put it back together I should go ahead and replace all my hardware,spacers,etc.. with chrome ones.

Now that I got it back together and it's lowered 1" I think I should lower the risers on the bars as low as I can.

Got that done but you know I've always hated the way that 2-up seat looks, lets replace that with a solo and detachable pillion.

That looks great but definitely don't have enough Willie G skulls on my bike (sarcasm), lets order some medallions to tastefully add to the bike.

Bike looks great! except those grey strut bolts on my wrinkle black.....lets paint them flat black.

Ahh now that looks great! Except that football air cleaner cover. Not a fan. Lets replace that with a Performance Machine Rival Air Cleaner.

Wow, the bike is finally where I'm done with it. Can't think of anything else to do I'm finally finishe....wait....you know that headlamp alway sucked at night....let's order a LED replacement.

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Yep the wallet got beat up but in the end I'm very happy with the results and can honestly say I AM DONE WITH MY BIKE!!!!

for now

Al Gore must love you. You single-handedly stopped global warming. You have to stop doing projects now so we don't go into an ice age.

Yep... and unfortunately it's looking like it's going to be a spring project, too. Ran into some welding, not doing that in the house.
