Default Another problem with 2014 triglide audio

First it was the CB not being standard on the TG's now they're telling me the Boom amplifier/speaker upgrade kit will not fit on the TG - just the Limited and Ultra. What gives?? What's so different about the TG?? Anybody know?

P&A catalog says the 6.5" speakers fit the TG, but not the amp.

I'm thinking I was stupid buying the 2014 TG now. No CD player, no CB and now no amp.

By some chance is the amp made to fit it the saddlebags that you don't have? If so, they should be able to find an alternate mounting place.

I have a '12 TG. My amp is inside the fairing sitting on the radio with strong double sided tape. I also have the HogTunes Big Ultra Kit. Great sound even on the highway!

I also installed the Hogtunes Big Ultra to my 2012 TG. I only went with the H-D Boom kit because Pez doesn't have anything for the '14's yet.

The parts manager at my dealer told me the real reason you can't install the amp on the '14 Tg. Because the CB unit sits where the amp would go - above the radio. And you can't put it under the tour-pac because there's no room.
Way to go Harley - really thinking ahead - what a bunch of f%$#@ing morons. Sorry morons for insulting you by calling the H-D designers morons.
At least the bigger speakers will fit and that's the main thing.

RUSHMORE = RUSH-to get out to the public, gets MORE irrate owners

Hopefully someone will come up with a solution for adding an amp with a CB unit.

Can't wait to see what else I CAN'T put on the TG.

From what I can see in my '14 touring service manual, the CB module mounts on the left side of the radio not over the radio. IIRC that is the reason why there is no storage area on the left side of the radio. Although I cannot cut & paste the info, I just looked at the 2014 Model Year Technical Forum and it says the amp mounts over the radio and the CB mounts on the side of the radio. Maybe you can talk to another dealer. Unless the Trike is using different parts from the Limited I cannot see why the CB and Amp would not mount the same way.

Someone mentioned that the rake of the TG prohibited using the amp. I don't know, but your post is giving me some hope that maybe my guy is wrong even though that's what tech support told him.

Another problem with 2014 triglide audio-capture.jpg

This picture shows the amp & CB module. The top arrow is the Amp; the bottom arrow is the XM module; and the right arrow is the CB module. If you look close you can see the CB antenna connection.

Again, that picture may be a Limited. They don't have the problem - just the TriGlide. Why it's different I don't know, but am working on it.

no such thing as 'can't'. it might not be as easy as other models, but if you really want it, you'll find a way to install it.

I'm assuming that you are trying to install the Fairing Mounted Boom Audio Amplifier Kit #76000278 and the Boom Audio Bike to Bike Communications Kit #76000486. According to HD's website both of these fit the 14 Triglide. I can not open the instruction page for the Communications Kit. The Amp Kit instructions clearly show the amp installed above the radio and the CB module is clearly visible mounted to the side of the radio as shown on page 3 of 7 in Figures #7 & #8. I don't know if there could be any difference between the 4.3 & the 6.5 radios.
