So right now I have a Hayabusa which is paid off. Tomorrow morning I may be trading it in depending on what the dealership will give me for it. At one time I had my mind set on a street glide. But the more I look at other bikes I just don't know. I have 2k miles of seat time on the SG and like the way and rides and love having the bags but when I sit on the new breakout (0 miles of seat time), or the Street bob (also zero), it just feels so much better. It feels more like a Harley to me. I'm just about to be 27 so I'm still young and I want something that looks badass. Street glides look badass with a bunch of mods but the fact is I can't afford to do all that. I could trade in on a street bob, throw some apes on it and love the way it looks and be WAY ahead in $$$$$. But here's the catch....

When I ride. I ride. I mean I ride 300+ miles. I'll ride 550 miles on a Friday down to Daytona, ride around all day sat, then ride 550 miles back on sunday. I am doing this on a sportbike right now. Do I NEED a street glide? Could I get the cheaper street bob and be happy doing that? I'm taking almost 2 weeks this summer to ride across the country. On a street bike. I would hate to trade what I've been riding for the past 8 years in on something I can't bare to stay on for even 200 miles. I don't want to buy it then realize I don't like it.. I plan to ride all 3 but I know a 20 mile ride will not tell me what a 300 mile ride will be like. So here is what I'm looking at...

New breakout 20k
2009 street glide 16k
new street bob 14k
used street bob around 10k

I want a low payment after trading in but ALSO want the bike that I need. And I don't know which one that is.

Thoughts?

I would get whatever feels the best man. You will get used to a bike pretty quick even if you havent had any previous seat time. In my opinion if I had the money I would get the breakout, but all these are nice bikes and you wont be dissapointed.

Forgot to add that every now and then someone may ride with me on a 300 mile ride. I'm not married so it's not a huge concern. But I need a bike that someone CAN ride on if they dare to.

Street glide would definantly be the most comfortable imo.

Would I regret getting a SG with the 96? How much faster is the 103?

It may be. I'm sure it is. But I am use to riding a sportbike. I don't need the best of the best for comfort. If the cheaper bike compares to what I have that would be great. I just don't want to down grade on comfort.

You could get a new street glide like a 13 with a 103 for the price of a new breakout.

I can't tell much of a difference at all. And I know my stage 1 96" with cams will run away from a similar stock, or a stage 1 103".
