So I got some cold miles on the new bike today and have some questions. First off when coming to a stop I have a whine in first gear with clutch pulled in. I thought it might be a tight belt but as soon as I shift to neutral it stops. Now lets get to the nav and radio. I downloaded the latest software and here is what I got - The WB just comes on when it wants, keeps telling me sync failed, after stopping to eat radio would not turn back on. Rode for a while and then shut bike off for 20 minutes then it came back on, hmm. The nav tells me to turn but is showing the road name for two turns ahead. Any ideas? Not all bitchin though, the bike rides and handles great. Love the added power

 

You have to shut OFF the weather band ALERTS. As for the rest I have no answers.

First gear is straight cut gear teeth. They are stronger, but they whine at bit. Second through sixth are hypoid cut and will be quieter. My '09 heritage has straight cut teeth in first and fifth gear. Fifth gear is a little louder than fourth or sixth but it's normal. Don't worry about it. Nothing is being damaged. You can quiet the tranny a little with Amsoil Severe Gear transmission oil.

 

On your nav system if you have a trip loaded and shut the bike down it will not resume the trip correctly unless you tell it which waypoint to start with. It is not like a garmin that will resume the route.
