I was at a local dealer. Sitting in my pick-up on the phone. Guy pulls a 2014 Trike out of the shop. Starts it up and heads across the parking lot. Bike took off like a SHOT. It hit a cinder block wall at about 60 ish.Trike ended up on its roof. The guy stood up like nothing ever happened. I ran over and he said im fine....CRAZY!!!!

 

Maybe they installed one of those toyota sticking throttles on it, lol. Bet that was crazy to see bet the adrenaline was pumping like hell when he popped right up.

 

 

In Washington state you need a seperate license to ride a trike, this may be why. That would totally blow if that was the day he was picking up, rather than a test ride.

 

At first I thought WTF is this guy doing. Its a small parking lot. He took off like he was at the drag races. Then I thought **** he better slow down. He is going to get hurt. The next thing I know the trike is up-side-down like a turtle on its back. If he didn't hit the wall he would have been out in busy traffic.....

A guy in my area got killed riding his brand new Ultra home from the dealer.

Sounds like new rider, throttle and control misapplication.
Now I don't want to sound like a Trike basher but perhaps this new Trike buyer was intimidated by two wheel motorcycles and thought three wheels would be safer method of satisfying his dream of "motorcycling". Seems like some blame goes with dealer who did not recognize this customer is a potential train wreck. Without generalizing, I reckon the demographics of the Trike rider is:
1. No riding experience
2. No BRC course
3. Over 65 yrs of age
4. Retired and affluent
5. Lives in the Sun Belt
6. Health problems such as diabetes
7. No motorcycle license
