I just installed V&H short shots on my Heritage. I previously had cycle shack slip-on's. At the suggestion of other forum members, I installed torque cones with the short shots. They made a huge difference for me. I had not realized that I had lost so much torque with the slip-on's.

+1 for torque cones

I know that a lot of people do not like them, or think that they do not work. With my set-up, they worked for me.

I think they work good on Drag Pipes.

I ran Rip Saw 1-3/4" od drag pipes, with torque cones, for a few years on my 2005 SE Fat Boy. The bike ran great with that setup.

A lot of riders care more about sound than they do performance, torque cones are somewhat of a band-aid for a "less-than-ideal" exhaust system.

I agree.

What the OP actually needs to do is to buy a real exhaust system....

Ran cones in my old Sporty 883/1200, pipes had no baffles. They were a huge help, bike went flat during the mid-range. The key is a better exhaust though.

Better to put a good set of baffles at the end of your straight pipes like Big City Thunder's.
