Default Polarized sunglasses...good or bad for riding?

Had a guy tell me today that polarized lenses are a bad idea for riding.
Say's they don,t allow you to see LCD readout and some hazards on the road, like water puddles, oil slicks and tar snakes.
Huh?

Never used polarized glass always had Anti-reflective coatings that is worth it..... can you not try a inexpensive pair first??

Hmmm. I can see the LCD readout just fine, I stay out of the middle of the lanes to avoid oil slicks and who cares about tar snakes?

I've always worn polarized, it's easier on your eyes.

Polarized is the way to go for me. I prefer not to be blinded by glare on the road or by low sun. And I can still see the crapy LCD readout on the stock radio.

lcd's can be hard sometimes, there's a weird kind of rainbow effect on my plastic windshield sometimes but I love them, would never go back to non-polarized.

I hate polarized lenses. You heard right, they make certain things hard to see while riding. I wear a full face helmet and the face shield clashes with the lenses, at least for me. YMMV...

And you know, I've worn polarized sunglasses many years, our cycling team had an eyewear sponsor and I've never heard of these issues until I read them from the motorcycle world. I use them driving the car, boating, motorcycling and used to bicycling. Must be a sales gimmick. Gotta love marketing.
