I changed my tranny oil used bel ray for the first time went for a short ride came back checked it and it looks foamy is that normal? Or should I drain it and switch back to mobile 1 immediately? Shifting felt and sounded ok just looks strange makes me nervous any input would be greatly appreciated oh by the way it's a 2000 wide glide

It's an egg beater in there with a stirrer on one end. It always looks like that. All the spinning gears and that square toothed spinner for extra sling on the outer bearing end where the throwout bearing runs Think that also helps to prevent oil migrating down the clutch pushrod and going into the primary.

It's not breaking down. It just got some air in it from the draining then re-filling and the gears are whipping it up at bit. Jeez. Does anyone think that somehow a trans that was ok to run 20-50 motor oil in, is somehow now breaking down 85-140 gear oil? I think not. Its fine.

I'm but a forum reading newbie but have laid in a supply of Redline for all 3 holes of the 103. I live close enough to the US border to have a US mailbox service in regular use so don't get burned on the shipping. The RL transmission oil gets praised a lot and if they do that right, the other RL oils ought to do the job too. It seems Redline is a bargain for a class 5 synthetic so why not? No brand gives their oil away so the premium for RL over the "blends" seems justified and is small change in any case. There are many wo feel the premium paid for oils like this are a waste. I'm prepared to pay this small premium on a bet that there is a difference. If I'm wrong, its only a few hundred bux over the life of the bike, if I'm right ?? Thats just me.
