Summer riding gear
Hello everyone. It's that time of year when temps are getting higher.
I'm a VERY new rider and looking for that cruiser look but would like to stay cool and safe in the summer. So here is my question. What is some decent gear for summer riding that will maintain that classic cruiser appearance.
I typically wear jeans and a large jacket for winter but now need something for summer. Leather is preferred but I think it may be too bulky for summer fun.

I have been riding for a lot of years . It is always better to be safe then looking cool . Do you know how cool people look with road rash ?
I have a lightweight leather Harley jacket I bought off E-BAY $125.00 bucks and it is vented . A lot of options please buy something good and be safe .

i dont normally wear leather in the summer..prob should but..i just got harleys Spinner waterproof triple vented jacket..had it about three weeks now, havent put my leather on since..i was looking for a lighter jacket for cooler temps ..something in between..i really like it so far,was hoping it could also serve as my rain jacket with separate bottoms. lots of choices out there from many companys, including harley ,light weight leather,to textile ,textile/mesh..some have leather combined..most have pockets for added armor.

Take a look at River Road's 'Pecos' mesh/leather jacket. Not as heavy as full leather, and wind goes through it for the warm days.
It's a mesh jacket with removable lining, and leather where you need it.
The OL has a matching one - she likes it, too.

There's a lot of vented and perforated leather jackets out there. You just need to go to a shop, indie or HD and see what's out there. For me, it's better to get some "hands on", rather than order them without seeing them.
Living in Texas, leather is not an option for me. I'm doing good wearing a helmet.
