New Battery saves weight and massive C.C.A
This may seem like a product advertisement but its not. I found a piece of equipment I want people to know about....
I have been getting my bike refitted and decided that after reading so many bad stories about the OEM batteries on this forum and two of my mates batteries dieing over the winter.
I decided to buy the biggest and baddest Antigravity 720 Cold Crank Amp battery. (Antigravity Batteries YTX12-24) - It's over kill as a direct replacement but It's a lot smaller and way more power than OEM stock.
Why,
With the build I am installing an AMP and 4 larger speakers, I have also gone with a 107 kit so the initial power needed to turn it over is going to be more.
So to test it. In the shop we hooked the battery upto bikes that they know have issues with the standard batteries and the size of the engines. The power given out just whipped these engines into action.
The only issues I had and I dont know why is my fuel pump and other fuel pumps seemed to go into overdrive. alot faster for about 5 seconds on start up.
It has less Amp hours 25Ah compared to the OEM 30Ah
So I was so impressed with it, I have now also purchased the Micro Start XP 1 jumpstart kit. It fits in your bagger or backpack and can recharge your battery or jump start your bike or other bikes/cars/trucks.. It also has a 5v USB slot to charge your phone when not on the bike.
Why do I love it so much.. well....

Lifetime gaurantee??? Are you sure?

That is a hell of a lot of cranking amps though. Everything I see says 3 year warranty though....

Battery has a 36 month pro rated warranty. First 5 months is free, rest of year 1 is 75% off msrp, 2nd year is 50% off msrp, and 3rd year is 25% off msrp. Didn't see anything on their website rearding a lifetime guaranty- that'd be one heckuva guarantee considering the FAQ says the expected life is 5 years. Also, in the warranty exclusion list, I believe it mentioned that running the battery below 11 volts would not be covered under warranty.

You didn't mention if the stock OEM charging system is capable of feeding it.
If you deep cycle a regular battery, the charging system often is stressed, and either the stator or the regulator (or both) can fail before it's time.
Does the charging system work harder to keep this battery at peak?

Ok so I need to check up about the warranty
So the charging system. Is the Optimate Lithium Charger but its going to use the same cable connector that is already installed.

Just doing the math I could purchase 3 oem batteries for a little over 3 bones and get at least a decade of use out of them for less than the price of one of the AG batteries. Not to mention each time I purchase a new oem battery I get a new warranty. Doesn't make much sense to me unless you need a butt load of CCA to turn over the motor. Probably not to bad a deal if the price weren't so high and the warranty a bit longer. Be interested in hearing how long it lasts you.
