A month ago i put a new rear brake switch on my 08 streetglide. It worked fine for about 25 days then again locked open, thus forcing the brake light to stay on. I removed the switch again, cleaned it out with WD40 and a few pipe cleaners. It work for one day and then lo ked open again. I yave bled the brakes, fluid was clear and the brakes still work. Anybody have any idea(s) why this is happening? Appreciate any help.

 

I don't know about yours but on my 2010 Street Glide that switch was part of a recall and was replaced at the dealership. When my switch failed it actually ruptured and leaked brake fluid. The switch failure was caused by the extreme heat from being in close proximity to the catalytic converter.
