Default Alternatives to $$$ Harley batteries?

Need a new battery for the '09 Street Glide. Bike left me stranded on Friday, Big Harley truck came and took it to the dealership (thanks Sac Harley). Now I need a new battery which is $175 plus another fifteen bucks tax.

Is there any alternative to this or is that the going price for batteries these days?

Thanks.

If that was your original battery, I'd say you got your money's worth for it, and go for a stock replacement. That said, there are numerous options available. The Everstart batteries at Walmart are about as cheap as you'll find and carry a two year free replacement warrantee. You can also spend a lot more... Antigravity battery will run you about $450, but is all fancy and high tech and only weighs about 5 lbs.

Look for a Deka battery - made in the USA and they make the HD battery.

Deka from Eastern Penn Manufacturing. $90 out the door - no core required.

Google big crank. It may be big krank. They're deka batteries for $85. I think batterymart dot com sells them.

Your dealership is pricey. I bought two of the Harley brand to replace both of the Harley brand deka's on mine for both bikes this year. One was five years old and the other was six years old. For just over a c note and change each.
