Default fuel petcock

No better way to show how much of a newbie you are than forgetting to flip the fuel petcock to on before you start your bike.

No, even worse is leaving it on "reserve" after filling up.

Then, the next time it "sputters" and you reach down to flip it on reserve it won't do any good. LOL

Fellas, most newbies don't even know what a petcock is with all this new fangled FI and such.

I haven't had one since my shovelhead. I do like not having one or having to turn on the headlight

Speak for yourself...I remember to turn on the headlight on my Shovel, but still occasionally forget the stupid gas thing. Becoming quite an expert at turning it on while shifting gears.

hahahahah I've done the same thing but the first time it happened i was on the side of the rode trying figure out why the bike died. A fellow biker stopped to help when i explained what happened he asked if i flipped it to reserve my response " I have a reserve on this" hahahah problem solved. some days a piece of humble pie is better than a bowl of stupid stew.

I used to have a sticker on my tank on a dirt bike, "Turn the gas on dummy". Kickin' the chit out of it and it wont start. I love efi

With my first Sporty I didn't worry so much if I turned it off when I parked. With my Ironhead I don't want to forget since, I believe, it's gravity fed instead of vacuum fed.

I switched from the stock petcock to a Pingle and didn't realize the "Reserve" position was different, so the first time I switched to Reserve, I actually turned it to the Off position. Bike won't go very far with the fuel turned off.

BTW, I miss having a petcock on the FI bikes. It was always a good feeling and knowing for sure you had a gallon left in the tank.
