LAKE GEORGE (AP) - State police and the Thruway Authority are advising drivers to watch out for motorcycles as thousands head for the 32nd annual Americade rally in Lake George this week.

Americade runs today through Saturday and is expected to draw about 50,000 participants. Most of the riders and spectators use the Interstate 87 corridor, and many also tour the local roads in the Adirondacks.

As a safety reminder, the Thruway Authority will be posting messages on electronic message signs system-wide.

State police say they'll add extra patrols in the region to watch out for driver safety violations that endanger bikers and conduct motorcycle safety checkpoints.

Police say there were no personal injury accidents during last year's event.
