Finally, an "Electra Glide" in the true sense of the word...

Default I'm not surprised at all

We speculate here on this forum on next years models while HD is working on plans for 8-10 years down the road. It would be a real coup if HD were to come out with a viable electric bike.

*shrug* I'll be the first to say it here. I like it. I won't give up my Street Bob or R6 for it but I like it.

I think it might be a good idea for them to jump on board this electric motorcycle idea since it would seem like other companies are building momentum for it. There is an appeal to these bikes that go outside of your average rider. In a country where the auto industry is dominated by consumers that only buy automatic transmission vehicles; I really think this may expand the number of people that you see on two wheels.

On a similar note; I believe Yamaha had also recently announced an electric motorcycle.

It looks good. And a good idea if Harley is pursuing it.

I like it, The thing is, Harley needs to start exploring and innovating just not at the expense of their current line up. Keep the bikes they make now, in the same style but introducing the V-Rod and now the Street series is a great move. I would love to see them go further in this direction while maintaining the current image with their classic line up. The models we all know and love would be "Current Classics" and keep us Harley fans happy, while these newer bikes would grab younger riders or people that would have but foreign bikes. I think its great, I would love to see Harley be the first big manufacturer to do something like this. I won't buy one, but I'm sure someone will. Maybe when the tech is better and they stay charged longer/ re charge faster....I just wont sell my Dyna to buy it lol

Interesting! I've been thinking about the Zero S or DS as a possible replacement for my Kawasaki after the Dyna gets paid off. Current battery ranges have already cleared the threshold for me. Maybe if H-D announces something in the next year I'll have another choice besides the Zero for a second American bike.

Good looking bike. I'd need a range of ~100 miles to use one as a commuter.

I bet that thing would be ridiculously fun in the mountains.
