Default From Joe Namath's Biker movie CC & Company

This is a blast from the past. My good friend Eddie Reed owned a custom bike shop here in New York back in the 60's. Back then nothing was store bought, you had to custom make every part. In 1971 Joe Namath made a bike movie called C.C. & Company. This photo was of Joe sitting atop Eddie's pan "CoCo Puff". It appeared on the cover of Esquire magazine in 1971 to promote the movie. I rode with Eddie back in those days, and this was one of the nicest bikes on the streets of NY. Eddie left this world a couple years ago.

I remember that movie well. The opening sceen where Namath walks through a grocery store and makes and eats a sandwich and drinks a small milk and only buys a pack of fruit strip gum as he leaves. Wow that's a while ago.

I never saw the movie because he was in it. He just didn't seem the "biker" type, with his pretty boy features.

I always liked that movie. Have watched it many times and have it on dvd now. Ann Margret is enough to make me overlook Joe Namath. I also loved the opening scene.

The grocery store scene was pretty funny- I also like how he "borrowed" a dirt bike from a dealer so he could ride in the big competition- He parked his chopper behind the dealer, took a dirt bike out for a test drive, tied the front tire of the dirt bike to the seat of his bike and towed it away dealer staring mouth wide open. He did leave the dealer an "IOU" for the bike.
Plus there was Ann Margret.

If you thought Namath was a pretty boy you must have been real hard up for boyfriends.

He was one hell of a quarterback though and did very well with the ladies.

+1, I still can remember his expression when he opened that envelope and saw what was inside.
