Can you believe it.I am looking a 2014 Streetglide but I can't shop around according to one HD dealer in PEI.Red Rock HD has a 1500 in store credit if you buy any touring model during the month of June, all other dealers are offering only 1000 on any HD bike, plus 3.99% financing on all new HD's,so one would think I'll go there and get a good deal right,WRONG.I called and spoke to the GM and he said I should stay within my area,I have a HD dealer 2 hours away from where I live,RedRock is about 5 hours away but has the better deal.I asked some questions and found out that the HD dealers have some type of agreement to not sell to someone not in there area. The GM told me this himself,so even though RedRock is offering better deals I can't take advantage of them,I have to stay in NB and buy from the "local" dealer.I'm so pissed I might just say f you and go to the bank and buy one in Maine, they don"t care one bit,it's pretty easy to get a used bike across the border.

Unless Canadian law is very different than American law he cannot prevent you from buying a bike from him. In addition, as long as the offer for discounts and special financing is in writing he also cannot discriminate based upon your address. We have very strict banking laws here to prevent exactly this from happening. Besides, what's the difference once you need to travel two hours to your "local" dealer you might as well go another three. I would press him on the discrimination aspect and see what he says.
